First day, achieve mission
Bon dia!
Hoy ha sido mi primer día y tengo un montón de emociones que no sabría explicar así que simplemente diré que ha sido maravilloso, fantástico y espectacular.
Nada más empezar, cuando he tenido la tarjeta de acceso en mis manos me ha empezado a temblar todo. Después ha sido complicado, mi jefe no ha podido venir a bucarme y he tenido que encontrar el edificio donde está mi despacho, he de decir que el CERN es muy grande, más de lo que os podais imaginar, he estado unos 15 minutors caminando entre las calles de Rutherford, Pauli, Oppenheimer... Pero a partir de entonces ha ido todo bordado.
Mi jefe me ha hecho un tour por todos los despachos presentándome a todo el mundo, me ha enseñado los laboratorios y mi despacho, y me ha explicado que voy a hacer (os lo explicaré mañana que lo tendré más claro).
Una vez instalada ya era la hora de comer, y mis compañeros de grupo me han venido a buscar para ir hacia uno de los restaurantes que hay, he comido de maravilla y por solo 10 francos (aproximadamente unos 9 euros que aquí es barato).
Después me he pasado la tarde leyendo papers sobre fotodiodos de avalancha (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fotodiodo_de_avalancha , os dejo este link por si quereis investigar un poco, pero ya os iré contando con más detalle) y mi jornada ha acabado aquí, a las 17:30. Mañana a las 9:30 empiezo a hacer medidas! Que ganas!
Después he ido a Ginebra a pasear, ya que hoy es el dia nacional de Suiza, había fiesta y fuegos artificiales, hemos cenado por allí y hoy es la primera noche que duermo en mi nueva casa.
Tengo muchas ganas de empezar a trabajar en el proyecto, mañana os cuento!

Today has been my first day and I'm feeling a lot of emotions, so I simply say It has been wonderful, amazing and awesome.
Just at the beginning, when I have had the acces card in my hand my whole body was shaking. Then it has been complicated, my boss has not been able to come for me so, I have had to find my office's building, I have to tell you that CERN is so big, more than you can imagine, I have been about 15 minutes walking through Oppenheimer street, Pauli street, Rutherford street... But thereafter all has gone smoothly.
My boss has gave me a guided tour trough the all the offices, and I have met all my colleagues, he also showed me the labs, my office, and he have explained to me the project and what I have to do (I will explain it tomorrow, because I need to brood over it ).
When I have been installed it was lunch time, so my colleagues have came in and get me to the restaurant, the meal was great, and I have payed only 10 francs (about 9 euros, here this is cheap).
After lunch I have been reading papers all the afternoon about avalanche photodiodes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avalanche_photodiode , I provide you this link in case you want to know more about this, but I will explain you in more detail) and my work day have finished at 5:30pm. Tomorrow I'm starting at 9:30, making measures! So excited!
After all I have gone to Geneva for a walk, today is the national Switzerland day, so there was celebration and fireworks, we hace dinner there and today is the first night I sleep in my new home.
I'm so excited to start working on the project, see you tomorrow!
