Acostumbrándome a la vida independiente
Bon dia!
Siempre digo que estoy haciendo medidas pero no os digo que mido, así que ha llegado el dia.
Básicamente lo que quiero estudiar es la forma que tiene el campo electrico dentro del detector. Lo que yo detecto cuando pasa una partícula emite es una señal que tiene forma de onda. Esta forma de onda es proporcional al campo electrico al que esta sometido el detector. Por tanto viendo la altura, anchura i forma de la onda puedo saber exactamente como es el campo en cada punto del detector y también la carga aumulada (cantidad de electrones que se han creado)
Los detectores cuando detectan amplifican la señal, es decir de un electron que les llega consiguen producir quizás 100000 y entonces los podemos detectar. Esta capacidad de amplificar se conoce como el "gain" del detector y varia con la temperatura (por eso hago medidas a 20 i a -20 ºC) i con el voltaje que le apliques (hago medidas con diferentes voltajes también).
Así que más o menos ya sabeis que hago en el laboratorio, la parte guai de esto es que la chica que me está enseñado tiene que hacer una charla en una conferencia a la que iba a ir la semana que viene y va a utilizar mis medidas!!!! Y no solo eso, ha puesto mi nombre en la presentación, salgo ahí en plan importante, soy científica ya!!
Estos dias no he podido hacer todas las medidas que quisiera porqué solo tenemos una máquina y eramos 3 que necesitabamo hacer medidas, así que nos apañamos una especie de turnos que más o menos se han respetado. A ver como va mañana...
De la vida cotidiana pues, he cobrado mi primer sueldo y me ha hecho super ilusión así que lo he celebrado saliendo cada dia des del miercoles hasta el domingo, como se nota cuando tienes dinero. También es verdad que cobro tan poco que en el banco casi no me dan ni las gracias por abrirme una cuenta. Simplemente tengo una tarjeta con la que puedo sacar dinero en efectivo, no puedo pagar ni puedo hacer ninguna transaccion por internet, además solo puedo sacar francos no euros, cosa que es una putada porque vivo en Francia pero bueno todo tiene solución en esta vida.
Ya me estoy acostumbrando bastante a hacer recados y eso, he establecido el lunes como el dia de la compra y el Carrefour ya no es un sitio tan hostil como lo era al principio. Pero me he dado cuenta de lo díficil que es comprar, Es decir he de pensar que desyunaré, comeré, merendaré y cenaré durante 7 dias y todos los ingredientes necesarios, además he de pensar que tengo espacio limitado en la nevera y el armario, vamos que es más díficil que aprovar fenomens colectius i transicions de fase. Hoy me he dado cuenta que tenia en la nevera una cosa caducada de hace dos semanas...
Además ya se puede decir que soy adulta, tengo tarjeta cliente del Carrefour, a mi nombre, al loro! Y tengo descuentos cada vez que compro.
Hoy además de hacer la compra he ido a regar las plantas a un compañero de trabajo que se iba durante dos semanas. Solo tengo dos explicaciones, tengo pinta de responsable o realmente estaba muy desesperado y no habia encontrado a nadie más. Opto más por la segunda, supongo que no tiene ni idea que yo no he cuidado una planta en mi vida. Pero no era muy complicado solo tenia que llenar la regadora y echar agua, creo que lo he hecho bastante bien, espero no haberlas ahogado. El lunes que viene vuelve así que lo sabremos.
Bueno esta semana se presenta bastante bien ya que el jueves es fiesta en Suiza o sea que no trabajaré y el viernes vienen mis padres, mis segundos padres y mi hermana!!!!! Me hace tanta ilusión enseñarles mi laboratorio y todo esto, estoy super impaciente. Que ganas que sea viernes!!

I'm always talking about my measurements but i've never told what am I measuring, so today is that day. I just want to know the shape of the electric field inside the detector. When particle pass trough the detector, it creates a signal which is a wave form. This wave form is proportional to the electric field. So by knowing the width, the shape and the height I can know how is the electric field en each point of the detector and the acumulated charge (quantity of electrons created).
One of the aims of the detectors is to amplifie the signal, for one electron that reaches the detector it creates for example 100000 and so we can detect the signal. This capacity of amplifie is knowing as gain and it varies with the temperature (because of that i make measures at 20 and -20 degrees) and with the voltage.
So now, more or less you know what I do in the lab, the awesome part of it is that the girl who is teaching me has to make a presentation in a conference next week and she's using my measurements. And also, my name is in her presentation!! I'm a scientific!
These days I could not make all the measurements I should because we only have on set up and we were three of us who wants to make different measuremnts, so we make turns that we almost respect. So let's se how's going tomorrow...
Talking about every day lige, I got paid and I have been very excited so I had celebrated that by going out every day since Wednseday until Sunday. It's also true, that I earn so little money that I think in the bank they don't want me. I have one card that only allows to withdraw money from a cash machine, nothing else. And only in francs. That's a problem because I live in France and I need euros, but i will find a solution.
I'm getting used to the housekeeping, Mondays are the shopping day, and Carrefour is not so undfriendly as in the begining. But it's very difficult. I mean, I have to decide on Monday what I will eat for every meal during 7 days and all the ingredients i will need, also I have to think about the little space I have in my fridge, I think it's easier pass collective phenomena. Today I have realised that in my fridge was something that have past its sell-day date from two weeks...
Also I have to say that I'm a growth adult, I have a Carrefour card, and I have lots of discounts!
Today after my shopping I went to a mate's house to water his plants, because he is out for two weeks. I have only two explanations, I look like responsible or he was very desperate, I think it was the second one, I haver never take care of any plant in my whole life. But it hasn't be so complicated, it's only water. I hope I haven't drowned any of them. Next Monday he will arrive so we will know.
This week is a good week, Thursday is holiday in Switzerland so I won't go work and on Friday my parents, my stepparents and my sister are coming!!! I'm so happy, I wan to show them my lab and my life. I'm looking forward Friday!!
